Elimination Chamber 2020 Preview & Predictions

2020 Elimination Chamber

It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for the Elimination Chamber, the last stop on the road to Wrestlemania. This year’s event will determine who will face Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at Mania, as well as the Intercontinental Champion, the United States Champion, and the Raw and Smackdown tag team champions. With two matches taking place inside the chamber, and a no disqualification match, the 2020 Elimination Chamber will be full of exciting moments.

The Card

Andrade (c) vs. Humberto Carillo
WWE United States Championship

This could finally be Humberto’s time. He has had several opportunities to take the title from Andrade and has come up short every time. With Zelina recently standing in Angel Garza’s corner, while Andrade was out, he could get involved and begin a new program between the three men which could lead to an excellent triple threat for the title at Mania.
Prediction: Humberto Carillo Wins

Aleister Black vs.AJ Styles
No Disqualification

A loss for Aleister could really hurt his current moment. Or it could make him more sympathetic if the club gets involved to overpower him. should this turn into a 3-on-1 beating, The Undertaker could show up to make the save, and continue what was started at Super Showdown when ‘Taker pinned AJ to win the Tuwaiq Trophy. The deadman could clear the club from the ring, and help Black get the win, forwarding that story towards its culmination at Wrestlemania.
Prediction: Aleister Black Wins

The Street Profits (c) vs. Seth Rollins and Murphy
Raw Tag Team Championship

It seems very unlikely that they’d want to take the titles off of The Street Profits so quickly. It seems most likely that they will retain, but it could be because of a disqualification. It’s hard to imagine that AOP or Kevin Owens won’t get involved in this match somehow.
Prediction: The Street Profits Retain

The Miz & John Morrison (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Usos vs. Heavy Machinery vs. Lucha House Party vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
Elimination Chamber, Smackdown Tag Team Championships

Elimination Chamber matches are wildly unpredictable. There are a few teams you have to assume will not win, Lucha House Party and Ziggler/Roode. However, the other three teams seem like likely candidates to take the titles from Miz and Morrison. In order to continue building Morrison early into his return run, it makes sense to keep the titles on the current champions.
Prediction: Miz & Morrison Retain

Braun Strowman (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, & Sami Zayn
3-on-1 Handicapped Match, Intercontinental Championship

This match sort of came out of left field. On one hand, the Monster Among Men has the odds stacked against him, and how could he possibly overcome them?! On the other hand, how do three men share the title? Would the one who pins Braun be the champion? Would we have to have a triple threat between them to determine the champion? It seems like Braun losing ends with too many questions to answer with only a month until Mania. keep the strap on Braun to make him look incredibly strong heading into the Showcase of the Immortals. Perhaps Strowman could take advantage of the trio all arguing or some miscommunication.
Prediction: Braun Retains

Natalya vs. Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka vs. Ruby Riott vs. Sarah Logan
Elimination Chamber, Winner will challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania

Again, the chamber is unpredictable, but there are a few folks who seem very unlikely to win. Natalya and Sarah Logan probably top that list. Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan have a separate story already, which should take them out of the potential winner's column. That leaves Asuka and Shayna Baszler. We just saw Asuka and Becky at Royal Rumble, although WWE has nothing against repeat matches (see Andrade vs. Carillo). But Shayna Baszler is new to the Raw roster and has already attacked Becky. This match will likely serve as an opportunity to make Shayna look extremely dominant and threatening. Expect Shayna to be one of the first 3 competitors in the match, and to go the distance, winning her title shot against Becky at Wrestlemania.
Prediction: Shayna Baszler Wins
